Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST)2016 Notification, How to Apply

JNVST Entrance Examination 2016 Notification for admission into VI Class has been released for admission into Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalays for the session 2016-17. The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) will be held on 07/02/2016 at 11.30 AM. The test will be conducted in all states including the Union Territories. Students who are going to write JNVST 2016 entrance examination must submit their application in concerned Mandal Educational Officer (MEO) before 30th September 2015. The applications are available at free cost in all DEO and MEO offices.

Medium of Instructions

The medium of instruction for the new admission students in VI Class in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language. From Class VIII English is the medium for Maths and Science and Hindi for Social Science. Students of the JNVs appear for X and XII class examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) and follow the CBSE syllabus. Free text books and boarding, lodging, uniforms.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) – 2016

The JNVST 2016 entrance test for the admission of VI Class in all JNVs for the academic 2016-17 is conducted different dates based in the division of states and the last date for submission of application at concerned MEO/DEO office is 30th September 2015.

1. On Saturday, the_9th January, 2016 at 11.30 A.M. in the State of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, West Bengal (except Darjeeling) Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla Districts), Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh (except Tawang District), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep and Pudducherry .
2. On Saturday, the 9th April, 2016 at 11.30 A.M. in the States of Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim ,Jammu and Kashmir (except Leh, Kargil & Doda) and in the District of Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Sirmour, Kullu, Mandi of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal.
3. On Saturday, the 11th June, 2016 at 11.30 A.M. in the Districts of Leh, Kargil & Doda of J&K State and in the District of Chamba, Kinnaur, Shimla and Lahaul & Spiti of Himachal Pradesh State.

How to Apply JNVST 2016

Aspirants who are seeking admission into VI Class can get application at free of cast at concerned MEO/BDO/DEO/HM/ Principal of JNV. Application can also download from the official website www.navodaya.nic.in .

How to Submit JNVST 2016 Application

The child who is studying in Class-V should submit the application before 30th September 2015 to the MEO/BDO concerned. Head Master of the school shall be signed on the JNVST 2016 application duly before submission of the form.

Hall Tickets/Admit Cards

Concerned MEO/BDO will be issued the admit cards which will be prepared by the Principal of JNV. Candidates who are not received the admit cards contact concerned JNV Principal one week before the JNVST test.

Medium of JNVST 2016 Test

The JNVST 2016 entrance exam language/medium is the candidate will be the medium through which the candidate is studying in Class-V.

JNVST 2016 Entrance Question Paper Composition

The composition of JNVST 2016 entrance test is consist three sections with only 100 objective type questions. Each objective question carries one mark and total 100 marks.

Selection and Admission Process

1. At the time of seeking admission JNV after the JNVST 2016 results, each selected candidate will have to produce all relevant certificates, as prescribed by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Until admission, the selection is provisional.
2. The decision of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti(NVS) shall be final and binding on the candidates in case of any disputes.
3. Marks obtained by candidates in the JNVST 2016 test will not be communicated under any circumstances.
4. There is no provision for re-evaluation of the answer scripts, no request for re-totaling of marks will be entertained.
5. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) will have to produce a certificate of the Caste/Tribe at the time of seeking admission, if selected.
6. Candidates belonging to the disabled category (Orthopedically Handicapped, Hearing Impaired and Visually Handicapped) if selected will have to produce a medical certificate signed by Chief Medical Officer of the District concerned at the time of admission.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Aspirants appearing for the selection JNVST 2016-17 test must be studying in Class-V for the academic session 2015-16.
2. A candidate seeking admission JNV must not have been born before 01-05-2003 and after 30-04-2007
3. A Candidate seeking JNV admission under rural quota must have studied and passed classes III, IV and V from a Govt. / Govt. aided / recognized school spending one full academic session each year in a school located in rural area.
4. A Candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before 30th September, 2015 is not eligible to apply JNV selections.
5. No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test second time, under any circumstances.

Selection Process of Rural Areas Children

1. At least 75% of the seats in JNV in a district will be filled by candidates selected from rural areas and remaining seats will be filled from the urban areas of the district.
2. A candidate who is seeking admission in JNV under the rural quota must have studied in Classes-III, IV and V completing full academic session from the recognized school(s) located in rural areas.
3. Candidates who is studying under the schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA) and National Institute of Open Schooling should produce their rural status certificate issued by District Magistrate/ Tehsildar/MRO/Block Development Officer.

Reservation of Seats in JNV

1. 75% of the seats of JNV in a district are filled by candidates selected from rural areas and remaining seats are filled from urban areas of the district.
2. Reservation of seats in favour of children belonging to SC and ST is provided in proportion to their population in the concerned district provided that no district, such reservation will be less than the national average (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST) but subject to maximum of 50% for both the categories (SC & ST) taken together.
3. One third of the total seats are filled up by girls students
4. 3% seats are reserved for disabled children (i.e. Orthopedically Handicapped, Hearing Impaired and Visually Handicapped).
