FAQs on AP Teacher Transfers 2025

Department of Education AP has released list of Frequently Asked Questions and its answers. In FAQ, most of the teachers transfers 2025 doubts are clarified. Before apply for transfers, teachers are requested to go through the FAQs given below.

1. Is it mandatory for Headmasters (Gr.II)/Teachers who have completed 5/8 Academic Years of service to apply for transfers?

Yes, it is a compulsory transfer.

2. Should vacancies be blocked for these transfers?

No, blocking of vacancies is not required due to DSC recruitment.

3. If the spouse is working in a Group 2 post at Head Office in Vijayawada (not a neighboring district), is the spouse category applicable?

Yes, the spouse category is applicable.

4. Can a teacher apply under the spouse category if her husband is retiring on May 31, 2025?

No. Spouse points are applicable only if the spouse is a currently working employee.

5. A teacher had 40% VH and 55% OH earlier but now has only 30% disability as per the latest certificate. Should they be considered surplus?

Yes, surplus status applies as per the latest medical board certificate.

6. A PET working against SA (PD) post is retiring within a year, and there are no PET posts in the district. Should SA (PD) post be shown as surplus?

Yes, PET shall be shown as surplus.

7. Will SGT counselling be online or manual?

Clarification will be issued shortly.

8. Can any School Assistant apply for MPS HM post?

Yes, all SAs are eligible. Final clarity will be issued soon.

9. Will previous government transfers (since 2018) be counted under current G.O. rules?

Only transfers from the date of commencement of the Act will be considered.

10. Should Headmasters (Gr.II)/Teachers under suspension and who completed 5/8 years apply for transfer?

Yes.

11. Are teachers with pending disciplinary proceedings allowed to apply for request transfers?

No.

12. Will aided teachers’ service be considered?

Yes, only for service points (0.5 per year), not for cadre seniority.

13. Will all Principal Office Bearers of Recognized Teachers Associations get 5 points?

Only Erstwhile Districts Principal Office Bearers are eligible, as per Rule 7 (iv) of G.O. 22.

14. An SGT (DSC-2002) promoted to SA and reverted to SGT in 2023 is posted in a school with another SGT (DSC-2016). Who is surplus?

The reverted SGT is considered surplus as they are the cadre junior.

15. Can a teacher on study leave apply for request transfer?

Yes.

16. An SA promoted to HM in the same school in December 2024 served from 2016. Why are only 5 station points given?

In HM Gr.II cadre, maximum station points are 5 years. Hence, only 5 points are awarded.

17. For aided teachers absorbed in 2023, which date is used for station seniority?

The date of joining into Government service in 2023 will be considered for calculating station seniority.

18. For aided teachers with 8 years total including aided service but absorbed in 2023, should the post be shown as vacant?

The date of absorption is used for station seniority. Aided service is counted only for service points.

19. Should both cadre services be counted for station seniority after promotion?

Yes, count both cadres for 5/8 years.

20. A teacher transferred in 2017 but joined in April 2018. From when is station service counted?

Service is counted from the joining date, not from the date of transfer orders.

21. Two teachers are retiring within 2 years; one is senior and both completed 8 years. Who is surplus?

The junior teacher will be treated as surplus.

22. How long should a teacher’s post on study leave be shown as vacant?

If they are on study leave as on 01.06.2025, the post is shown as vacant.

23. A teacher joined on 23.04.2018 due to 2017 transfers with no reliever. Should their post be shown as vacant?

No, since the teacher has not completed 8 years, the post should not be shown as vacant.

24. A teacher completes 8 years by 31-05-2025 but retires on 31-05-2027. Should the post be shown as vacancy?

No, the post is not shown as a compulsory transfer. If the teacher is willing, the post can be shown as a vacancy.

25. For 5 sanctioned SGT posts with 2 working and 3 vacant, how is 40% preferential applied?

Preferential category is applied on total sanctioned posts. Hence, 2 out of 5 for preferential category.

26. School bifurcated; teachers moved to Girls High School in 2021. Do they complete 8 years?

Yes, they come under compulsory transfer as bifurcation is treated as continuation.

27. SA-Sanskrit working against SA-Bio Science post with no SA-Sanskrit posts in the district. Should the post be shown as vacant?

No, the SA-Bio Science post is surplus. Hence, it should not be shown as a vacancy.

28. POS coordinator returned after 4 years; should service in FSTC be counted?

No, count the service from the date of rejoining the school after FSTC.
