New Tax Regime, FY:2023-24

A new way of taxing people was started in the 2020 budget. They changed the tax levels and offered lower tax rates to taxpayers. But if you decide this new way, you can’t get some tax benefits like HRA, LTA, 80C, 80D, and others. Because of this, not many people liked the new tax system. In the 2023 budget, the government has made 5 important changes to make more people use the new tax system:

  1. Higher Tax Rebate Limit: Now, you don’t have to pay any tax if you earn up to ₹7 lakhs, which is more than the ₹5 lakhs limit in the old system. This means people earning up to ₹7 lakhs won’t have to pay any tax with the new system.
  2. Streamlined Tax Slabs: The limit for tax exemption is now ₹3 lakhs, and there are new tax levels: [details to be added].
