3 year LL.B. Course Eligibility

To apply for the 3-year LL.B. program, candidates need to have completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. They should have achieved at least 45% marks if they belong to the general category, 42% for BC category, and 40% for SC/ST category. If a candidate hasn’t met these percentage criteria in their Bachelor’s degree, they can fulfill it by scoring the same percentage or higher in any additional Bachelor’s or Master’s degree they’ve completed.

5 year LL.B. Course Eligibility

To be eligible for the 5-year LL.B. program, candidates need to have passed their Intermediate(10+2)exam or any equivalent recognized by the university or board. They should have scored at least 45% marks if they belong to the general category, 42% for BC category, and 40% for SC/ST category.

Important Things to Remember to Apply AP LAWCET/ AP PGLCET

  1. Just taking the AP LAWCET / AP PGLCET exams doesn’t mean you automatically get admission. You must meet all the eligibility requirements and follow the admission rules in place at that time.
  2. If you completed your 10+2 or graduation/post-graduation through a single sitting system without having the necessary qualifications for those studies, you can’t apply for law courses.
  3. If you’re currently in your final year of intermediate (12th grade) or graduation (10+2+3 pattern), you can still take the APLAWCET/APPGLCET exams before your results are out. But by the time of counseling, you must have passed.
  4. The age requirement for admission into law courses depends on the rules at the time of admission.
  5. To apply, you must be an Indian citizen and meet the local/non-local status requirements set by the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974, and its amendments.
  6. If your basic qualification is I.T.I, you can’t take the LAWCET Examination.
  7. The qualifications and eligibility for applying to APLAWCET/APPGLCET-2024 are subject to the rules set by the BCI from time to time.
  8. The specific courses offered by the law colleges will be announced during the Admission Notification Counseling.
  9. A Polytechnic Diploma will be considered equivalent to Intermediate (+2) for admission purposes.

AP LAWCET Entrance Exam Pattern

The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s General Knowledge, Mental ability, Current Affairs and Aptitude to pursue the study of Law. The Test consists of three parts. Total number of questions will be 120, 1 mark for each question, and the duration of the test is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120.

  • Part–A: Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: General Knowledge and Mental Ability.
  • Part – B: Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: Current Affairs
  • Part–C: Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 marks: Aptitude for the Study of Law.

The questions in AP LAWCET-2024 will be objective type, which means they’ll include multiple-choice questions and matching items. Each question will have four alternative answers, and candidates need to choose the correct one from those options.

Qualifying Marks AP LAWCET, AP PGLCET

To qualify in AP LAWCET-2024, candidates need to score at least 35% marks, which is 42 marks out of a total of 120 marks. However, there are no minimum qualifying marks for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) for ranking purposes.

For AP PGLCET, there will be a single entrance test for all LL.M. courses. The test will last for 90 minutes and will consist of 120 questions, each carrying one mark. The test will have two parts.

Syllabus for APPGLCET– 2024

The candidates should be thorough in Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, Public International Law, Mercantile Law, Labour Laws, Crimes and Torts, IPR & Other laws.

AP LAWCET, AP PGLCET General Insturctions

  1. The Convener or the Common Entrance Test Committee can reject a candidate’s application if it’s incomplete, if the candidate doesn’t meet the eligibility conditions, or if false information is provided.
  2. Candidates should carefully choose the appropriate test—3-year, 5-year, or LLM—based on their qualifications. The Convener of AP LAWCET – 2024 is not responsible for any wrong selection of the entrance test.
  3. The convener of APLAWCET / APPGLCET-2024 is responsible for conducting the entrance test under APSCHE. However, he isn’t responsible for admissions or seat allotments.
  4. Admission through AP state Postgraduate Law Common Entrance Test-2024 will follow the rules and regulations of the University, BCI, APSCHE, and relevant government orders.
  5. Once submitted, no changes can be made to the filled-in application form, including caste/community status. Correspondence regarding this won’t be entertained.
  6. The Convener isn’t responsible if an application isn’t submitted by the notified date and time.
  7. Candidates must keep their hall tickets safe for the test and for entry into the course later.
  8. Hall tickets should be downloaded only from the website https://cets.apsche.ap.gov.in.
  9. Appearing for AP LAWCET – 2024 doesn’t guarantee automatic entry into the course.
  10. If a candidate claims relaxation of minimum qualifying marks due to SC/ST category, but the claim is later found invalid, their rank obtained at APLAWCET-2024 will be canceled.
  11. Selection of candidates and college allotments will be based on the rank obtained in the Common Entrance Test and other conditions.
  12. Candidates won’t be allowed into the exam hall after the scheduled time on the date of the entrance test.
  13. The list of recognized Law Colleges, sanctioned strength, permitted courses, and government-admissible seats for the academic year 2024-2025 will be provided after the results are published.
  14. In any legal matters, only the Convener of APLAWCET-2024 will be involved, subject to the jurisdiction of the High Court of A.P.
  15. Candidates are advised to practice mock tests available on the website to get familiar with the online test format.
