Key Highlights of Amendments:
- Updated Definitions:
- Elementary School: Classes I to VIII including all existing formats.
- Neighbourhood Area:
- 1 km for Foundational / Primary schools (PP1 to Class V)
- 3 km for Upper Primary / High schools (Classes VI to VIII)
- Transport Allowance:
- To children aged 6–14 where school is unavailable within prescribed distance.
- 1 km – For Foundational / Primary Schools
- 3 km – For Upper Primary / High Schools
- School Upgradation Provision:
- Primary schools (PP1–V) may be upgraded to include Classes VI–VIII
- Existing Upper Primary Schools (I–VII) will include Class VIII
- School Management Committee (SMC):
- One SMC for schools having PP1 to Class X or XII
- SMC will function perpetually; vacancies to be filled as required
- Authorization by MEO/DEO depending on school level
- Updated Forms in Appendix:
- Separate classification for teachers in:
- Foundational / Basic / Model Primary Schools
- Upper Primary Schools
