AP Government Employees DA Hike 2026: The Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued G.O.Ms.No.120, Finance (HR.VI-PC&TA) Department, dated 11-09-2026, sanctioning an enhancement of 1.82% Dearness Allowance (DA) to the employees of the State Government with effect from 01-01-2025.

As per the latest orders, the Dearness Allowance for employees drawing pay under the Revised Pay Scales, 2022 (RPS 2022) has been increased from 40.04% to 41.86% of Basic Pay.

The Government has ordered revision of Dearness Allowance for employees of the Government of Andhra Pradesh from 40.04% to 41.86% of Basic Pay with effect from 01-01-2025.

This represents an enhancement of 1.82% in DA for employees covered under the Revised Pay Scales, 2022.

Who are Eligible for the Revised DA?

The revised DA is also applicable to eligible employees drawing pay in regular scales under RPS 2022 in the following institutions and establishments:

  • Zilla Parishads
  • Mandal Parishads
  • Gram Panchayats
  • Municipalities
  • Municipal Corporations
  • Agricultural Market Committees
  • Zilla Grandhalaya Samsthas
  • Work Charged Establishment
  • Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of Aided Institutions
  • Aided Polytechnics
  • Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of Universities

The order specifically includes eligible staff of universities such as Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and Dr. YSR Horticultural University who are drawing pay in regular scales under RPS 2022.

DA for UGC Pay Scales 2006

The Government has also revised the Dearness Allowance for State Government employees drawing pay under the Revised UGC Pay Scales, 2006.

The DA rate has been increased from 246% to 252% of Basic Pay with effect from 01-01-2025.

This revised rate is also applicable to eligible teaching staff of Government and Aided Affiliated Degree Colleges, Universities and Government Polytechnics drawing pay under the Revised UGC/AICTE Pay Scales, 2006.

DA for UGC Pay Scales 2016

For State Government employees drawing pay under the Revised UGC Pay Scales, 2016, the DA rate has been revised from 53% to 55% of Basic Pay with effect from 01-01-2025.

The revised 55% DA rate is also applicable to eligible teaching staff of Government and Aided Affiliated Degree Colleges, Universities and Government Polytechnics drawing pay under the Revised UGC/AICTE Pay Scales, 2016.

When Will the Increased DA Be Paid?

The Government Order states that the Dearness Allowance sanctioned under the order shall be paid in cash with the salary of September 2026, payable in October 2026.

Therefore, eligible employees will receive the revised DA component along with their September 2026 salary payment, payable in October 2026.

AP DA Arrears for 20 Months

The latest order provides for payment of DA arrears for the period from 01-01-2025 to 31-08-2026, covering a total of 20 months.

The arrears will be paid in four instalments, with the first instalment consisting of 10% of the total arrears and the remaining 90% being paid in three equal instalments.

First 10% DA Arrears – January 2028

10% of the total DA arrears will be paid in January 2028.

  • OPS Employees: The arrears will be credited to the General Provident Fund (GPF) account.
  • CPS Employees: Including eligible PTD employees who have opted for CPS and are governed by CPS, 10% of the arrear amount will be credited to their PRAN accounts along with the Government share as applicable.
  • EPS-95 Employees: DA arrears will be calculated and paid according to the rules applicable under EPS-95.

Remaining 90% DA Arrears – Three Instalments

The remaining 90% of the DA arrears will be paid in three equal instalments during the following months:

Special Provision for Retired and Retiring Employees

The Government has provided a special provision for employees who retired or are due to retire from service between 01-01-2025 and 31-12-2027, inclusive of both dates.

For such employees, the DA arrears shall be drawn and paid in cash. The order refers to the exemption from making GPF subscriptions during the last four months of service for employees retiring on superannuation.

DA Arrears in Case of Death of Employee

In the event of the death of an employee before the issue of these orders, the employee’s legal heir(s) shall be entitled to the DA arrears, subject to the applicable rules and procedures.

DA Arrears Calculation

For employees covered under RPS 2022, the additional DA sanctioned through this order is 1.82%, increasing the DA from 40.04% to 41.86%.

The actual amount of arrears payable to an individual employee will depend on the employee’s eligible Basic Pay during the arrears period and the applicable rules.

Employees can calculate the additional DA month-wise based on the eligible Basic Pay and the applicable DA difference for the period from 01-01-2025 to 31-08-2026.

AP DA Arrears Bill and Payroll System

The Government has directed the APCFSS to incorporate the necessary functionalities in the payroll system to calculate DA arrears and generate the Due Drawn Statement.

This will facilitate Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) in generating the DA arrears bills.
