π’ AP Employee Transfers 2025: Guidelines, Dates & Eligibility [Official G.O Released]
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially released the AP Employee Transfers Guidelines for 2025 under G.O.Ms.No.23, dated 15th May 2025. This initiative ensures efficient placements while supporting employee welfare and governance improvement.

π Transfer Window (Relaxation of Ban)
- Transfer Period: 16th May 2025 to 2nd June 2025
- The existing transfer ban is relaxed during this period (refer G.O.Ms.No.90).
π Key Guidelines for AP Government Employee Transfers 2025
1. Who is Eligible for Transfer?
- Employees who completed 5 years of service at one station by 31st May 2025 will be transferred.
- Others may request transfers on a personal basis.
2. Exemptions from Transfer
- Employees retiring on or before 31st May 2026.
- Visually challenged employees (unless requested).
- Recognized Employeesβ Association office bearers (within 9 years of station stay).
3. Priority Categories for Transfer Requests
- Visually challenged employees.
- Employees with mentally challenged children (subject to medical facility availability).
- Employees with over 2 years of service in tribal/ITDA areas.
- Persons with disabilities (40% or more).
- Employees with critical medical conditions (Cancer, Kidney, Heart surgeries).
- Widowed female employees appointed on compassionate grounds.
- Husband and wife working in Government service will be posted nearby wherever possible.
π Special Focus on Tribal and Backward Areas
- Employees in ITDA areas for more than 2 years may be transferred to preferred stations.
- Employees under 50 years of age preferred for ITDA postings.
- Priority to those who have never served in tribal areas.
- Vacancies in tribal and backward areas to be filled before others.
β Rules for Transfer Implementation
- Transfers to be done by competent authorities based on delegation rules.
- District, zonal, and multi-zonal cadre transfers to follow Presidential Order units.
- Special category applications to be verified by internal committees.
- Employees in tribal areas must be relieved only after a substitute joins.
- Failure to report to ITDA posting will result in disciplinary action.
π Department Responsibilities
- Departments may issue their own transfer guidelines (not violating G.O rules).
- Transfers must be transparent and time-bound.
- Violations of the guidelines will be taken seriously.
π Re-imposition of Transfer Ban
The transfer ban comes into effect from 3rd June 2025 onwards.
