The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) Paper I(A) 2025 is meant for Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) posts in primary schools across Andhra Pradesh. This paper is for teachers who will handle Classes 1 to 5.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has released the detailed syllabus and exam guidelines through G.O. No. 36. The APTET Paper I(A) exam carries 150 marks and consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

The subjects covered in APTET Paper I(A) include:

Each section has 30 questions for 30 marks, making a total of 150 questions for 150 marks

APTET SGT Paper I(A) – Syllabus, Standard & Books to Refer

The APTET Paper I(A) syllabus for Language-I and Language-II is designed to test a candidate’s language proficiency, communication skills, and comprehension abilities.

  • Each language section has 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

  • Out of these, 24 questions are based on content and 6 questions on the pedagogy of that language.

For Mathematics and Environmental Studies (EVS), the syllabus is based on topics from Classes 3 to 8, with a difficulty level up to Class 10.

  • Both subjects have 30 MCQs each24 on content and 6 on pedagogy.

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) prepares the detailed syllabus for all subjects, which will be released along with the official notification.

Candidates are advised to follow the AP State Syllabus Textbooks from Classes 3 to 10 for the academic year 2025–26, and refer to:

  • D.Ed / D.El.Ed Telugu Academy textbooks (2014–2025 editions)

  • SCERT D.El.Ed textbooks (2019 edition)
